The other candidates and the MSM are just flat out scared of Dr. Paul now, hoping to avoid having to confront him or be confronted by him because they know they always lose. No more half-witted attempts to make him look bad, no more strange cackling while he speaks, just avoiding eye contact seems to be their plan.
Total Times
Romney: 21:11, during 13 times
McCain: 16:00, during 13 times
Giuliani: 13:50, during 11 times
Huckabee: 12:11, during nine times Paul: 6:31, during six times
John McCain was very confused.
And then of course there’s the strange “man behind the curtain” whispering to Romney, apparently the brains of the operation.
Hand-tally expected to start today; Democrat Kucinich opts to end his recount. Nashua Telegraph, 1.24.08 The Telegraph has confirmed that an elaborate supporter network for Republican presidential candidate and Texas Rep. Ron Paul has raised the $59,600 to recount GOP ballots from the New Hampshire primary.
The recount is expected to start this morning. Democratic presidential candidate and Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich ended his requested recount of New Hampshire primary ballots Wednesday.
I appreciate hearing the Vietnam Vet’s take on things, his desire to conclude the Iraq War and his thoughts about the Vietnam War, especially just having listened to recordings of MLK’s speeches opposing the Vietnam War. It was as if America was given [in the 60s] a chance to wake up and stop being a war-like people but on the whole they turned away the voices of reason, like MLK. It seems we are being given one more chance to wake up and become a peaceable people again with the Ron Paul movement. Its up to individual Americans.
“. . . It seems that I can hear God saying to America, ‘you are too arrogant. If you don’t change your ways, I will rise up and break the backbone of your power’. . .”—Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., 1967
Yesterday Ron Paul called Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., “the great champion of non-violence at home, peace abroad, and civil disobedience against tyrannical government.” Watch/listen to these MLK speeches and you’ll see what Dr. Paul meant. When it came to peace and the defense of inalienable rights Dr. King was a true American hero.
Dr. King, On War
Martin Luther King, “Why I Am Opposed to the War in Vietnam”
“…so you’re suggesting that I’m not electable, and that the Republicans don’t want me because I’m a strict fiscal conservative? Because I believe in civil liberties? Why should we not be defending civil liberties?”
—Ron Paul
According to the official letter that Albert Howard signed, the cost is $55,600 for the recount of approximately 240,000 ballots.
The Secretary of State must receive the money in the form of a certified check by 3 PM tomorrow January the 15th.
Go to http://grannywarrior.chip… to donate. We need a major effort of all to raise this money by the deadline.
[Update 1 . 15.08: Daily Paul users reporting that the fundraising goal has been met and paid!]
Spread the word, blog about it, send e-mails , get on the phone, do everything you can to make this happen.
When we have come this far, don’t leave us hanging…
I was hoping Dennis would step forward on the Democratic side pushing for a NH recount, he has. Kucinich has sent a letter to the New Hampshire Secretary of State asking for a recount of New Hampshire’s primary election.
. . .I am not making this request in the expectation that a recount will significantly affect the number of votes that were cast on my behalf, Kucinich stressed in a letter to Secretary of State William M. Gardner. But, Serious and credible reports, allegations, and rumors have surfaced in the past few days. It is imperative that these questions be addressed in the interest of public confidence in the integrity of the election process and the election machinery not just in New Hampshire, but in every other state that conducts a primary election.
We have a candidate [Albert Howard] that is willing to go to NH and file for the recount. We have paid his air fare and he is on his way as of 4 PM EST. He has tomorrow to file.
We will be sending him the money as he needs it to assure us and you that each district or precinct is counted plus more funds are needed to complete the process.
Alex Jones has agreed to help us out and everyone seems to be working together to get this done.
Going purely on hand-counts, which as we saw in Sutton were by no means angelic but at least harder to cheat on than Diebold voting machines without getting caught, Ron Paul would have won 15% of the vote and finished third. This figure would have more accurately correlated to the pre-primary polls rather than the ridiculous 8% he was eventually given.
Ron Paul Town Hall Meeting 1/06/07, Manchester, New Hampshire
For those of you tired of only hearing the 10 second sound bytes about candidates’ positions, this is an amazingly detailed and informative discussion Ron Paul had with the town of Manchester, NH. He takes extra time and care to explain his foreign policy, his proposed solutions for the economic crisis, his position on withdrawing from the Iraq War (addresses McCain’s remarks about staying in Iraq for 100 years), education, and other important issues.
I can’t believe some people are willing to concede to defeat so fast after the New Hampshire results. I’ve seen a blog saying “the revolution is over,” or one said “the polls are correct” and insinuated that we give up on getting Paul elected (as if to suggest the actual vote totals are insignificant).
As of right now Ron Paul has more delegates than Giuliani or Hunter, and more total votes than Giuliani, Hunter, and Thompson. There’s a chance that victories in other states could still make Paul eligible for the nomination. It’s not over. Many in our nation are calling for real leadership and Dr. Paul has already given that to us. Let’s double our peaceful, grassroots efforts and spread the message of hope.
Update 1.15.08: They need another $5,000 to move forward with the NH recount. Donate at Granny Warriors chip-in site.
This is something I didn’t want to have to make a post about, but I’ve found too much evidence to completely ignore or say that voter fraud isn’t or couldn’t be taking place.
According to a post this evening on the Ron Paul Forums, vote fraud occurred in Sutton, New Hampshire:
Sutton with 100% reporting reported 0 votes for paul but poster in Sutton posted:
My mom, aunt, and dad all voted for RP today in my hometown, My mom and aunt both work passing out ballots, and checking them off. I just looked at the politico map and it says their town has ZERO votes for Ron. Now i know that there isn’t corruption on voting in that little town, so where they reported it must be. What do I do, anyone know???
AUSTIN, TX — January, 07, 2008– Supporters of Presidential candidate Ron Paul are thrilled to announce the launch of a privately funded Ron Paul billboard in Manchester, New Hampshire, just in time for the primary.
I think this is a great idea, other states should consider doing this as well. Visit Ron Paul Billboards.com for more info.
