Mitt Romney Endorses Ron Paul

Okay, Romney didn’t actually endorse Ron Paul — but he might as well have. In this interview with Mark Larsen on The Morning Magazine show out of Tampa Bay Romney basically says (in so many words): “I am part of the corrupt political elite. I will not do anything to fix the problems in this country, but I might make them worse — at the very least I will continue with our failed policies. Everyone should vote for Ron Paul instead of me or any of the other candidates.”

Ron Paul — The Greatest American in Modern Times?

It’s easy to make a very strong argument for that! Here’s a short video history about the life of Ron Paul:

New Ron Paul Campaign Ads

Our nation is in trouble… unless we quickly start to change things that is.
Read Ron Paul’s economic solutions here.

Here is the other new Ron Paul ad, it’s quite good as well:

Ron Paul: “There’s every reason in the world to be optimistic!”

Here is an update on the Ron Paul campaign from Ron Paul himself. He talks about successes and challenges so far, how things are going in the present, and some of the improvements that are being implemented in the campaign for the future. Dr. Paul is in this for the long haul — so are we!

More MSM Bias: The Exclusion of Ron Paul

This is the norm, not the exception. Fox News does it, the NY Times does it — all MSM does it to one degree or another most of the time. Media blackouts and/or bias is occurring constantly with ALL news — perhaps the most obvious example of this lately though is how the media treats Ron Paul. When dissecting MSM, start with the assumption that it is intentionally misleading, incomplete, manipulative and inaccurate and then work your way back to the truth from there.

Ron Paul MSNBC Florida Debate 1.24.08

The other candidates and the MSM are just flat out scared of Dr. Paul now, hoping to avoid having to confront him or be confronted by him because they know they always lose. No more half-witted attempts to make him look bad, no more strange cackling while he speaks, just avoiding eye contact seems to be their plan.

Total Times
Romney: 21:11, during 13 times
McCain: 16:00, during 13 times
Giuliani: 13:50, during 11 times
Huckabee: 12:11, during nine times
Paul: 6:31, during six times

John McCain was very confused.

And then of course there’s the strange “man behind the curtain” whispering to Romney, apparently the brains of the operation.

And Then There Were 5

Huckabee and Giuliani are nearly broke so they’ll be next to go.

URGENT: Ron Paul’s Economic Solutions

A welfare-style tax rebate band-aid? Lowering interest rates and injecting billions of fiat dollars into an already over-inflated economy? This is like sticking bubble-gum into the cracks of a dam that is about to burst. It is only delaying the inevitable and making things worse.

Our economy is now facing imminent collapse, this will not be abated by faulty, temporary “fixes” that are only contribuing to the problem. Here are the real, urgent economic solutions provided by Ron Paul that need to be implemented.

1. Tax Reform: Reduce the tax burden and eliminate taxes that punish investment and savings, including job-killing corporate taxes.

2. Spending Reform: Eliminate wasteful spending. Reduce overseas commitments. Freeze all non-defense, non-entitlement spending at current levels.

3. Monetary Policy Reform:
Expand openness with the Federal Reserve and require the Fed to televise its meetings. Return value to our money.

4. Regulatory Reform:
Repeal Sarbanes/Oxley regulations that push companies to seek capital outside of US markets. Stop restricting community banks from fostering local economic growth.

GOP New Hampshire Recount Begins Today

Hand-tally expected to start today; Democrat Kucinich opts to end his recount.
Nashua Telegraph, 1.24.08
The Telegraph has confirmed that an elaborate supporter network for Republican presidential candidate and Texas Rep. Ron Paul has raised the $59,600 to recount GOP ballots from the New Hampshire primary.

The recount is expected to start this morning. Democratic presidential candidate and Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich ended his requested recount of New Hampshire primary ballots Wednesday.

Vietnam Vets Who Support Ron Paul

I appreciate hearing the Vietnam Vet’s take on things, his desire to conclude the Iraq War and his thoughts about the Vietnam War, especially just having listened to recordings of MLK’s speeches opposing the Vietnam War. It was as if America was given [in the 60s] a chance to wake up and stop being a war-like people but on the whole they turned away the voices of reason, like MLK. It seems we are being given one more chance to wake up and become a peaceable people again with the Ron Paul movement. Its up to individual Americans.

“. . . It seems that I can hear God saying to America, ‘you are too arrogant. If you don’t change your ways, I will rise up and break the backbone of your power’. . .” —Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., 1967

Ron Paul is Strongest Opponent of Real ID

The Real ID basically amounts to an illegal threat to our privacy, security and identity. The national ID card, potentially a forced replacement of your driver’s license, would track your every move, make you more susceptible to identity theft, and likely decrease national security. John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani want to help the HSD implement it.

[Ironically Hillary Clinton, John McCain, and Barack Obama each have had their private passport information accessed illegally by contractors working for the government.]

Real ID watchdog group The Visible Vote 08 has praised Ron Paul for his consistently strong opposition to the Real ID Act:

“(T)he strongest opponent of the Act among presidential candidates is Ron Paul, who has taken every opportunity to warn of the creation of a national ID card and the threat to individual privacy facing Americans as a result of enactment of Real ID… Ron Paul is the only presidential candidate who has consistently raised the issue of the Real ID Act in presidential debates this year.”

Visible Vote notes that Republican candidates John McCain, Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani all support the Real ID Act.

Why is there not a bigger outcry against the Real ID Act? Some of the details of the Act finally hit mainstream news this past week, but its definitely not a new piece of legislation.

Great Speeches of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Yesterday Ron Paul called Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., “the great champion of non-violence at home, peace abroad, and civil disobedience against tyrannical government.” Watch/listen to these MLK speeches and you’ll see what Dr. Paul meant. When it came to peace and the defense of inalienable rights Dr. King was a true American hero.

Personally Thank Ron Paul

A group called Liberals With Class has organized a petition/mass thank you note for Ron Paul called Wishing Ron Well. Here is your chance to write Dr. Paul a message voicing your support for his campaign and expressing your thanks and admiration for all he has done! Sign the petition here.

The petition reads in part:

Dear Dr. Paul,

We, the undersigned, have given our all for you: our time, our treasure, our energy, our creativity… and our hearts. We, your philosophical children, want to let you know we are loyal to the cause of liberty and that we remember you and Carol, your contributions and your tireless efforts. Hundreds of thousands of Americans have rallied to your message with incredible zeal and unabashed devotion.

Murray Rothbard detailed how America was conceived in the flame of liberty, which has flickered over the years, only to be rekindled in every darkest hour by heroic men like you. Bob Taft’s 1940, 1944 and 1952 primary efforts lit the sparks for Barry Goldwater’s 1964 campaign and later the movement to elect Ronald Reagan governor of California and eventually President. Sadly, the Dewey/Rockefeller wing of the Party–that defeated Taft and kept Reagan off the ticket in 1976–now dominates in an unholy alliance with those “draped in a flag and carrying a cross.”

But you, our good doctor, have cured our apathy and given us “Hope for America.” You have resuscitated the Freedom Wing of the Party and rekindled the torch of liberty. That torch has lit a thousand small candles in the grassroots institutions spawned by your campaign’s success thus far. For that alone, you have earned your rightful place in the pantheon of liberty’s heroes.
